How to become a delegate at the NH Democratic Convention in September
The NHDP Annual Convention will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at the SNHU Center (formerly Verizon Center), Manchester, NH. Times will be determined in the next few weeks. To keep up with information and details go to www.NHDP.org.
This will likely be the largest and most comprehensive—and interesting—convention in the state party’s history. It will be the closest many of us get to attendance at a National Democratic Convention, including speeches by numerous Presidential Candidates, and the energy of the unfolding Democratic Primary.
Nashua Democrats are entitled to 100 delegates*, the second largest delegation in the state. Nashua Delegates and their eligibility are determined as follows:
Four NDCC Officers: Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary and Treasurer
Four At-Large NDCC Elected Members of the Executive Board
29 Legislative Members from Nashua, two Senators and 27 State Representatives
(The rules call for 29 “candidates” for office in the last election, but in 2018, they all won.)
63 Ward Officers, divided as follows for all nine wards:
Ward Chairs, Vice Chairs, Secretaries, Treasurers, and three at-large delegates
These positions will be elected at the NDCC Annual Meeting/Caucus on April 1.
*Some positions are duplicated: for example, where one of the NDCC Officers is also an elected legislator.
Please see “Our Officers” for details on election and description of each office.
