Nashua Democrats

Will Darby - Candidate for Secretary

Hello Friends –

I am announcing my candidacy for re-election as the NDCC secretary for the 2025-2026 term. As you may know, I have been the secretary of the city committee for the last two years. During this time, I have been responsible for all secretarial duties, e.g., minutes and correspondence, but I have also led and played a significant role in numerous NDCC committees and activities. These include the 2024 NDCC Gala, 2023 and 2024 NDCC Summer BBQs, 2024 candidate mailing campaign, 2024 digital campaign, including the Ward 1 primary, and candidate support, such as recruiting, mentoring, canvassing and visibility. I manage the NDCC website, and have been a significant fundraiser for NDCC events.

Nashua persevered as the largest Democratic stronghold city in the state during the last two elections, electing 25 Democrats to the city’s 27 State Representatives in 2025, and electing a Democratic mayor and majorities on the Board of Aldermen and Board of Education in 2024. But the chaos in Washington and majority dysfunction at the State House threaten our core values. We must work hard to re-elect Democrats to preserve our beloved city, recognized as one of the safest and best-run in the county, and its strong public education and vibrant downtown, while continuing to develop housing for all residents, and pushing down property taxes by making the state pay for its responsibilities. This will take renewed effort of all NDCC executive board members to recruit, train and support quality candidates, increase outreach to grow our committee membership, and raise funds to meet these goals. To ensure an engaged, active NDCC board, I have met with a number of Democratic advocates from across the city – some with experience on the NDCC and other newcomers with fresh ideas, and am endorsing the following candidates for NDCC executive board:
Chair: Derek Thibeault

Vice-Chair: Joe Patry

Treasurer: Sanjeev Manohar

At-Large: Emily Andrukaitis, Lou Juris, Christal Lloyd

As for my background, I was re-elected in 2024 to my second term as a State Representative for Ward 8, serving again on the Resources, Recreation and Development committee. I am also the Treasurer for the Nashua Conservation Commission, and a member of the Nashua Energy and Environment Committee. Additionally, I am a State House representative to the Public Water Access Advisory Board and Committee to Study Exotic Aquatic Weeds and Species.

I have been a resident of Nashua for more than 20 years. My wife Deb and I have a blended family with six adult daughters, including two teachers, a mental health nurse, and an environmental engineer. I am a software engineer by trade, and currently a software manager at Arista Networks in southern Nashua.
